Dusting off the old boy

Has it really been six years (since Book Two)?

Thanks primarily to the efforts of Simon Green, I have been re-invigorated about my creation, and paramount among these thoughts is to ‘do it right this time’. Not to discount the amazing efforts of past contributors, but I had allowed the character to be diluted by so many different creative interpretations that there really was no definitive character in play – only a visual connected them, and even that was at times vastly different.

So the new series will effectively be a relaunch of the character, and while a few elements of past stories will remain – particularly Badower & Napiorkowski’s ‘Good for the Goose‘ from Book Two – this is a new character, with much more depth and mythology coming into play for the new series.

Backup stories – previously stand-alone oneshots – will now become interwoven into the main story, all depicting adventures and events of the character’s life from the past, present and future. But the main thing will be an ongoing storyline from issue to issue and series to series. What form this will take – graphic novel or single issues – has yet to be finalised. But there will be a continuity to the character that didnt exist before. Events in one story will affect the next. While it’s not a revelation in storytelling by any means, for Killeroo it’s the next step to establishing a solid character to build upon over time and multiple mediums.

I’m excited.
And hopefully for those folks that already have an affection for the big lug, it will be well-received.
